What Is Cannabidiol?
There's a fast-growing part of the cannabis industry that doesn't involve pot: a compound known as cannabidiol, or CBD. CBD and THC are both found in marijuana, but it's the THC that's responsible for weed's mind-altering effects. While marijuana plants indeed contain relatively high amounts of terpene-rich resin, the hemp plants we use are equally endowed. In fact, we don't recommend using any CBD product that does not specify that the product is completely THC-free, meaning all THC has been removed.
Full Spectrum - All products include all of the cannabinoids present in the hemp plant. In controlled clinical trials , the drug was proven to reduce seizures in people with Dravet syndrome and Lennox-Gastaut syndrome — and it didn't produce as many of the unpleasant side-effects that come with other epilepsy medications.
For our products, we use CBD oil that is extracted from hemp, a legal plant low in THC. While there are certainly people with good reasons for choosing an isolate, there's a lot of good evidence that CBD works better in combination with other cannabinoids (this is called the entourage effectâ€).
Because it contains such a low level of THC, CBD oil from hemp is considered a food supplement and is therefore legal to buy and sell in all 50 states (and in most countries worldwide) without the need for a prescription or medical card. Once a patient has been approved for the state's medical program, they can go to the dispensary they selected during the application process to buy CBD and other cannabis products.
